Player status indicates whether a WelcomeTV Player has recently communicated with the WelcomeTV platform.
The status helps monitor connectivity and identify devices that may require attention or troubleshooting.
Online Status #
Online #
An online player has recently checked in successfully with the platform.
This usually means:
- The player has internet connectivity
- The device is powered on
- Synchronization is functioning normally
- Content updates can be retrieved automatically
Offline Status #
Offline #
An offline player has not checked in for some time.
This does not always mean playback has completely stopped.
Common Reasons for Temporary Offline Status #
- Internet outages
- Power interruptions
- Router or WiFi problems
- Player restarts
- Temporary network instability
In many cases the player reconnects automatically once connectivity returns.
Offline Playback and Caching #
WelcomeTV Players use local caching to improve playback reliability.
This means offline players may temporarily continue displaying previously synchronized content even while disconnected from the platform.
Once internet connectivity returns, the player will usually synchronize updates automatically again.
A player showing as offline in the dashboard does not automatically mean guests are staring at a black screen in panic.
Cached playback often keeps content running normally for some time.
