WelcomeTV Players automatically refresh and synchronize content over time without requiring manual updates on the device itself.
Most content changes are handled automatically in the background to keep TV playback simple and reliable.
When Automatic Updates Happen #
Players typically refresh content after:
- Saving slideshow changes
- Reassigning slideshows
- Updating existing slides
Once synchronized, the updated content becomes visible on assigned TVs automatically.
How Synchronization Works #
During synchronization, players may:
- Retrieve updated slideshow data
- Download new media assets
- Refresh playback configurations
- Update locally cached content
This process normally happens automatically without requiring staff intervention.
Updates May Not Appear Instantly #
Depending on:
- Internet connectivity
- Synchronization timing
- Local caching behavior
Updates may not appear immediately on all players.
In most cases, content refreshes automatically over time once connectivity is stable.
Offline Players #
If a player is temporarily offline:
- Previously cached content may continue playing
- New updates may not synchronize immediately
- The player will normally refresh automatically once connectivity returns
This behavior helps maintain playback stability during temporary network interruptions.
WelcomeTV Players are intentionally designed to operate quietly in the background.
Ideally, nobody should ever need to think about them unless the hotel WiFi decides to begin its dramatic monthly performance art routine.
