Understanding Offline Playback

WelcomeTV Players use local content caching to improve playback reliability and reduce interruptions during temporary connectivity problems.

Cached playback allows TVs to continue displaying previously synchronized content even if the internet connection becomes temporarily unavailable.

How Offline Caching Works #

WelcomeTV Players store slideshow data and media locally on the device.

This means:

  • Slides and videos can continue playing locally
  • The TV does not depend entirely on constant internet access
  • Playback remains more stable during temporary outages

Examples of Temporary Connectivity Problems #

Hotel WiFi Interruptions #

Temporary wireless instability or weak signal conditions.

Router Restarts #

Network hardware rebooting or maintenance events.

ISP Outages #

External internet provider interruptions affecting connectivity.

Benefits of Offline Playback #

Offline caching helps improve:

Offline caching improves reliability, but new changes cannot synchronize until the connection is restored.
